CUPOLA SANCTIS
SFÂNTUL ANDREI

The first of Jesus’ disciples abandoned his boat and trawl in order to listen to John the Baptist’s words, able to feed and sooth his soul. Andrew was the first to follow Him and, after converting his brother Simon-Peter, both of them became “fishers of men”.

He stayed close to the Saviour all His life, from His first miracles to Resurrection. When the apostles gathered and drew lots in order to learn in which part of the world they had to preach the new faith, Andrew’s mission had to cover Bithynia, from Scutari, over the Constantinople channel, to Nicaea, beside the two areas next to the Black Sea, with the nations living between Macedonia and Thracia, up to the Ister (today’s Danube). In his way, he baptized them and ordained many a priests, being the first one to bring the Word of God in the land of Dobrudja. Saint Andrew’s cross “sits” today on the flag of Scotland, whose patron saint he is, yet Romania, Spain, Sicily, Greece and Russia have also recognized him as their protector.

All Christian creeds celebrate Saint Andrew on the 30th of November.

Saint Andrew is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which develops bold notes of spices, dried plums, chocolate and accents of berries, spices, vanilla and butter. Dense and velvety, with pleasing and elegant tannins, the wine has a friendly structure but also a depth that dries you to the sensation of spice and wood. Its structure indicates that wine has good potential for evolution and aging.
