In AD 293, the Roman General Constantius Chlorus divorced Flavia Iulia Helena (Helen), a Christian born in Bithynia. Many years later, Constantinus (Constantine), his son, aiming to punish Rome’s dishonesty and riot, came with an army to the city, ruled at the time by Emperor Maxentius.

Aware of Constantine’s honesty, God made His appearance in front of him in broad daylight, uncovering in the sky a starry Cross next to in hoc signo vinces (“in this sign you will conquer”). Constantine ordered to print this sign on all flags and swords of his army. He defeated Maxentius and was appointed emperor in AD 312. In order to glorify God, he moved his capital city to Byzantium – formerly, a Thracian town – and renamed it Constantinopolis (Constantinople), i.e. Constantine’s city.

Saints Constantin and Helena is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which develops bold notes of spices, dried plums, chocolate and accents of berries, spices, vanilla and butter. Dense and velvety, with pleasing and elegant tannins, the wine has a friendly structure but also a depth that dries you to the sensation of spice and wood. Its structure indicates that wine has good potential for evolution and aging.
